Who invented spaghetti, and why? If you can't find out the real answer for this question, use your imagination...

This was a tricky question and I'll have to admit that I haven't found out the whole truth yet. Mind you, from your findings and arguments, it seems that people don't agree on one answer. However, you have really helped me to find out more. What I do know is that eating it is a skill which can take years to learn. How many white shirts and clothes have been thrown away because twirling spaghetti covered them in tomato sauce? That's almost another Challenge...

The Chinese invented spaghetti, but marco Polo brought the concept of spaghetti back from China, Asia to Italy. (from Shaun - Year 3)

(from Alice - Year 4)

The Mediterranean people invented spaghetti because pasta was familiar in the Mediterranean area. And a dry pasta came from Sicily in the twelfth centuary and was then exported to Italy. Pasta was practical and economical. (from Melissa - Year 3)

The Scicilians probably invented spaghetti, and in my imagination because they looked at worms! (from Jack - Year 4)

(from Hannah - Year 4)

So it seems as though no-one is sure of the answer. This week's Challenge lives to be asked another day...
