The garden as it was on June 21st 1999. The garden was nice and green then, but only with weeds. Some of these were left in the garden for their medicinal value, such as Xk'anal (Hamelia patens Jacq., Rubiaceae), X-cruz ojo (Malachra capitata L., Malvaceae), Altanisa (Parthenium hysterophorus L., Compositae) and Lombricera k'aax (Richardia scabra L., Rubiaceae), amongst others.
