Too Big to Fit in the Picture!

We're not sure what it is in our soil that Runner Beans love so much, but it certainly makes them grow in to giants.

And the Winner Is...

We took some of the longest beans to find out how long they really were, and many of them were much longer than the rulers in the school (the ones on th tables anyway). These winners grew in at 37 cm long. That's almost a meal all by itself!

Onion Harvest

The Mini-Garden Hippo came to inspect what had been harvested from the garden. Although it wasn't much, he was impressed by the oinions that we had grown from tiny seeds. The word came back that they tasted great too!

A-maize-ing!

The sweetcorn harvest was small. In fact, it is all in the picture. Many of the flowers on the cobs hadn't been pollinated (for each yellow kernel you see, it has a tiny flower that needs to be pollinated). But it tasted good (Mr C bought the lot - end enjoyed every kernel) and was fun to grow, so it shall be on the list for growing next year.
