Our Pot Plants

After the success of the Geranium and Petunia sale at the May Fayre (read all about it below), Mr H. of Albion Plants in St. Albans has kindly donated a tray of Winter Flowering Pansies for us to grow on and sell. Click on the button to find out more...

(Posted May 2005) Earlier this April, we received a donation of young plants from Albion Plants Nursery in St. Albans, Hertfordshire to grow on in the school and sell at the May Fayre, to raise funds for the Garden Club (for much needed equipment) and also for the school. Albion Plants is owned by Mr H., who has been a friend of Mr C. for many years. Quite often Mr C. will pop down to St. Albans to visit Mr H. and, whilst there, will usually help out on his nursery. This year, the idea came to us of letting the school enjoy the experience of growing plants and then selling them on at the school May Fayre. Mr. H. kindly offered 2 trays of plants to the school. All Mr C. had to do was find a way of taking them back. Now, Mr C. was going down by train, so he had to find an inventive way of getting them back...

Back at school, Mr S. was happy for us to use his glasshouse. But that would mean a lot of looking after, and a lot of space! However, a lot of kind parents and guardians at school offered to look after some plants and grow them on themselves for the May Fayre. A lot of people had also donated pots to the Gardening Club, for us to grow the plant in, after a big plea went out for them. Thank you to everyone who has helped to date.
